The Role:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is a professional nurse licensed in Georgia to function in an expanded role to provide primary health care to individuals, families or groups. The Certified Nurse Midwife functions in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health professionals in the delivery of primary health care services. They are able to make independent decisions with physicians in carrying out health regimens for families and clients. The Certified Nurse Midwife is directly accountable and responsible to the patient.

Qualifications

  • Current License (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse / Physician Assistant)
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Minimum of two years relevant APP experience in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery is desired. One year of relevant APP experience in the critical care setting also is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Full peri-operative scope of practice
  • Shared floor responsibilities (Rounds - Consults, Discharges, Clinic follow-up)
  • Outpatient care coordination as needed
  • Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic & community physicians
  • Performs physical examinations
  • Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies & other diagnostic procedures
  • Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical & other conditions
  • Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management
  • Maintain a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, & interactions to achieve organization's mission

Job Description
AdventHealth Redmond is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (PA or APRN) to join our dynamic Critical Care Unit team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an innovative, mission-driven healthcare organization and make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Position Overview
As an APP in our Critical Care Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care during night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 7-on/7-off schedule, offering exceptional work-life balance. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure continuous coverage and optimal patient outcomes. This role involves managing a broad range of critical care cases and performing advanced procedures within your credentialed scope.

Responsibilities
• Provide expert-level patient care in the Critical Care Unit with remote supervision by an Intensivist.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and hospital leadership to ensure seamless patient management and continuity of care.
• Perform advanced procedures such as chest tube placement, thoracentesis, needle thoracostomy, intubation, lumbar punctures, central and arterial line placement, and other procedures as credentialed.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and proficiency in managing complex critical care cases.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation includes a competitive base salary commensurate with experience and training. Providers are also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus tied to quality, compliance, teamwork, and productivity metrics.

Duties

  • Acts as the primary physician extender
  • Provide medical treatment under the supervision of the physician
